Three people were arrested on violation of probation warrants on Thursday, including a woman involved in a vehicle crash. A disturbance also resulted in one man’s arrest for the second time this month and fourth time this year, according to arrest reports.

Hillcrest Drive Crash

Sulphur Springs Police Officer Shawn Albright contacted a 26-year-old Sulphur Springs woman reported to have been involved in a vehicle crash on North Hillcrest Drive at 2:17 p.m. October 29, 2020.

Guadarrama, who is also known by Jessica Bareiny Guadarrama, Jessica Barei Guadarrama-Avina and Jessica Bareiny Silva, remained in Hopkins County jail Friday, Oct. 30, on both charges.

Jail records show Oct. 29, 2020, was the second time Guadarrama has been arrested on those charges. She spent Dec. 7, 2017 through Jan. 6, 2018 in Hopkins County jail on warrants for violation of probation-forgery and not paying a no driver’s license fine. Upon arrival, officers identified the people on scene at the location. Troy Tennel Ross was found to have an active warrant for his arrest for violation of probation on a third-degree felony assault of a family or household member charge.

The 48-year-old Sulphur Springs man was taken into custody and jailed on the warrant at 6:13 p.m. Oct. 29, 2020, marking the second time this month and fourth time this year Ross has been booked into Hopkins County jail.

Ross was first arrested March 30 for allegedly assaulting a woman identified in reports as his wife by throwing her twice to the ground in a Gilmer Street car wash parking lot around 4:20 a.m. A scratch on the woman’s chest, where bruising was beginning to appear, as well as bruising on one hand and a scrape on one knee supported the assault allegation. He was returned to jail on April 22, just 6 days after being released on a $25,000 bond on the assault of family or household member with previous conviction charge, for violation of bond/protective order. Police were flagged down around 12:40 a.m. April 22 by a person claiming he had violated a protective order issued following the March assault. Officers went to the Park Circle Drive address, where Ross was observed by one of the officers who arrested him on March 30. After confirming the protective order to still be active, police took Ross into custody on a Class A misdemeanor violation of a bond/protective order charge. A charge for insufficient bond on the assault charge was also added.

Ross plead guilty Sept. 10 in district court on the March 30 assault charge. As part of a plea agreement, Ross was sentenced to 10 years deferred adjudication, 180 days in jail, and will be required to participate in a Battering Intervention and Prevention Program. He was given credit for the time already served in the county jail. He was released from custody on probation on Oct. 1, after completing the terms of his jail sentence.

Police responded to a disturbance reported at Ross’ new Sulphur Springs residence the day after his release from jail. A records check showed an Arkansas warrant for Ross’ arrest on a violation of parole charge, resulting in his third stay in Hopkins County jail, police alleged in the Oct. 2 arrest report. He was released on that charge on Oct. 7.

Troy Tennell Ross, who is also known by Anthony Curry, Troy Curry, Timothy Ford, Anthony Munn, Terry Munn, Troy Munn, Anthny Ross, Anthony Ross, Antoney Ross, Derin Ross and Timothy Tenell Ross, remained in Hopkins County jail Friday, Oct. 30, on the warrant for violating probation on the assault charge.

The suspected methamphetamine weighed 2.11 grams and tested positive using a field test kit as a controlled substance.

Bryant remained in Hopkins County jail until Nov. 25, 2020 on that charge as well as a tampering with physical evidence charge for the alleged marijuana dumping and on Delta and Hunt County controlled substance warrants as well. Bond was set at $10,000 each on the Hopkins County controlled substance and tampering charges.

Bryant reportedly pled guilty in court Tuesday and received a 10 year deferred sentence, which required 180 days to be served in jail as a condition of probation, and he must also complete an intensive residential drug rehab program.

Three others also arranged to plead guilty in court this week on felony offenses.

Makenzie Corey McGill arranged to plead open during the 9 a.m. court session on Nov. 23 to an April 7, 2020 evading arrest or detention with a vehicle charge.

He was arrested Feb. 3 on a warrant for a controlled substance in a drug-free zone charge. He was arrested June 1 on a credit or debit card abuse-elderly charge.

The child endangerment charge stemmed from an investigation by SCU and CPS in which the 27-year-old Sulphur Springs woman and her 8-month-old allegedly tested positive for methamphetamine.

Sentencing hearings for McGill, Teague and Lindsay are slated to be scheduled sometime in December.

Sulphur Springs Police Officer Victor Reyna responded just after 8 p.m. Nov. 29, 2020, to a report of a theft in progress at Walmart. Store asset protection staff reported seeing the man leave Walmart with merchandise he did not pay for, then walk to a nearby convenience store.

Police observed a male fitting the description of the alleged shoplifter walk into the gas station restroom. At the store, the man allegedly attempted to conceal a white box in a trash can liner. The box was retrieved and found to contain headphones or earbuds. A short time later, another pair of personal audio listening devices was found in the another white box at the same location. Police reports show two packets of Kool-Aid also were among list of property recovered from Lindsay.

A records check showed the suspect, identified in arrest reports at 31-year-old Jamie Lee Lindsay, not only had an outstanding Class C misdemeanor warrant for his arrest but there as also an active criminal trespass warning on file prohibiting him from being at Walmart.

Consequently, Lindsay was arrested at 8:12 p.m. Nov. 29, in the 1700 block of South Broadway for theft of property valued at less than $2,500 with two or more previous convictions, criminal trespassing and on the possession of paraphernalia warrant.

Jail reports show the 31-year-old Sulphur Springs man has been booked into Hopkins County jail multiple times over the last 13 years. Lindsay previously was jail in Hopkins County on July 17-18, 2008 on a theft charge; July 10-12, 2013, on a theft of property with two or more prior convictions charge; Sept. 10-28, 2015 for violation of probation on a theft charge; and July 17-Oct. 7, 2016, as part of an 11-month state jail sentence for violating probation on a theft charge.

A 34-year-old Sulphur Springs man was arrested on a burglary charge Tuesday after he allegedly kicked in his mother’s apartment door, according to arrest reports.

Wo Lynn McCormick (HCSO jail photo)

Sulphur Springs Police officers responded to a disturbance at a Van Sickle Street apartment reportedly started by a son kicking in a door and assaulting his mother. Upon arrival, officers encountered Wo Lynn McCormick. The 34-year-old claimed he just wanted to get non-prescription medication and to see his mom.

The mother, however, alleged her son, Wo McCormick, kicked in her door, and struck her hard in the side of the head. Another one of her sons allegedly saw his brother grab at their mother and put Wo in a choke-hold to prevent further violence.

Consequently, McCormick was arrested at 1:45 p.m. Dec. 1 for burglary of a habitation for his actions to gain entry to his mother’s locked residence. He remained in Hopkins County jail Wednesday morning, Dec. 2, 2020, on the second-degree felony burglary charge.

According to jail reports, Tuesday was the fourth time McCormick has been in Hopkins County jail in 2020 following family disturbances.

He spent Feb. 22-23 in jail on a Class C misdemeanor family violence assault charge and a resisting arrest, search or transport charge. He allegedly grabbed a female family member by her bathrobe. When police attempted to take him into custody, he allegedly actively resisted them and attempted to flee the scene.

He also spent March 26-27 in jail for family violence assault by threat; and March 28-July 2 for violation of bond/protective order. On March 26, he was accused of threatening to bash his mother’s face in. Because of the Feb. 22 arrest and an Aug. 4, 2019 arrest, police believed further violence would occur if no action were taken, so he was arrested March 26 for assault by threat. He allegedly became aggressive toward jail staff and was placed into a protective cell overnight. After spending the night in jail, he was released from custody on March 27.

At 12 a.m. March 28, he was reported to have returned to his mother’s residence and kept trying to get her to let him into her residence, despite a protective order issued following the March 26 incident prohibiting him from contacting or being within 1,000 feet of his mother. Consequently, he was arrested March 28 and held until July 2 on a violation of bond/protective order charge.
